<p>IPL matches now can be seen live on YouTube with a five-minute pushback. A separate section called Fun Feed will give behind-the-scenes information on the matches.Users will also be able to upload their questions on the match, chat with friends and give commentary as well.</p>
<p>During the press release, Mr. Shailesh Rao  (M.D. for Google India) commented &#8220;Cricket is the centre of our lives and with the IPL channel, we are doing something that has never been done before in television&#8221;</p>
<p>Lalit Modi Commissioner for IPL, a well known portfolio for technology savvyness and his innovations, referred this tie-up to &#8220;ushering in a democratisation of broadcasting.&#8221;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Videos, properly submitted, are <em>53 times more likely</em> to generate a first page Google ranking than traditional SEO techniques, according to a recent study by <a href="http://www.forrester.com/rb/research">Forrester Research</a>. However, many companies are ignoring video SEO altogether, only submitting the pages on which videos reside and not the videos themselves, or worst of all, submitting their video assets to YouTube under the misunderstanding that this will generate SEO benefits.</p>
<ul>
<li>Video SEO is 53 times more likely to produce a first-page search result than traditional techniques.</li>
<li>Google is pushing video to the top of search results, creating a goldmine for marketers.</li>
<li>Results begin to appear in days, and some publishers succeed in getting 25 percent or more of their videos to produce first page results.</li>
<li>Search engines can&#8217;t find video content on their own, so getting submission right is critical &#8212; a knowledgeable partner can make this much easier.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>The Unfair Advantages of Video SEO</strong><br />
Although video SEO isn&#8217;t dissimilar to traditional SEO, it has two distinct advantages.<br />
First, Google and other search engines work to have a mix of content types displayed in search results (a.k.a., blended search results). For this reason, they give a higher ranking to video content than other forms of Web content in order to make sure that searches consistently display mixed search results.<br />
Second, there&#8217;s a relative dearth of video content available today, and only a small fraction of the content available is properly submitted to search engines for inclusion in the search indexes. This combination of disproportionate bias towards video content and the small pool of indexed video content available is a gold mine for publishers.</p>

<p>According to the survey, 74% of buyers report the service provider&#8217;s website holds at least &#8220;some influence&#8221; over their ultimate decision to buy services from the provider. This is 23 percentage points higher than in 2005 and represents a significant increase in the importance of websites.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The American Red Cross is sending money, supplies and staff to Haiti to support relief efforts there after yesterday’s earthquake, which caused catastrophic damage and loss of life.</p>
<p>Nearly three million people may have been affected by the quake, which collapsed government buildings and caused major damage to hospitals in the area.</p>
<p>The Red Cross is contributing an initial $1 million from the International Response Fund to support the relief operation, and has opened its warehouse in Panama to provide tarps, mosquito nets and cooking sets for approximately 5,000 families.</p>
<p><img class="alignleft" title="Pray for Haiti" src="http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/images/201001/20100117wap_haitistreet_500.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="333" /></p>
<p>The public can also help by texting “Haiti” to 90999 to send a $10 donation to the Red Cross, through an effort backed by the U.S. State Department. Funds will go to support American Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti.</p>

<p>2009 saw the birth of an innovative concept called Blog-Off contests hosted by the Community Marketing Blog in response to the lack of unauthenticated new social media consultants springing up overnight. Andrew Ballenthin created this event as a forum for social media marketing enthusiasts to engage in a monitored event that would independently validate the individual’s capabilities. “With the emergence of social media I believe the Blog-Off competitions are an important process for measuring social media consultants and business practitioners,” says Jon Hansen. Hansen is an author and acclaimed online show host who’s PI Social Media Network reaches over one million monthly syndicated listeners and readers.</p>
<p>Plans are underway for Blog-Off III in 2010. Contestants are already stepping forward to participate in the next event because they see the value in being independently validated as a valuable asset to offer future clients and employers.</p>
<p>Forrester Research projects that interactive marketing will represent nearly $55 billion in spending by 2014 representing 21% of all marketing spend. With social media being a key component of this future marketing growth Blog-Off events will play a formative role in identifying leading professionals who can deliver measurable business results in social media marketing.</p>
<p>The words to watch this year will be “professional validation” and “measurements” if 90% of businesses are to transition from being busy with social media to being effective.</p>

He used blogs, Twitter, MySpace and Facebook to propagate and reach out to people.  This created trust in the minds of people and gave them a chance to learn the prospective development Obama as a president could make. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hackers briefly blocked access to the popular Internet messaging service Twitter yesterday, steering traffic to another Web site where a group reportedly calling itself the &#8220;Iranian Cyber Army&#8221; claimed responsibility.</p>
<p>Users trying to reach Twitter early Friday were redirected to a Web page that CNN reported had a picture of a green flag and a message that said, &#8220;This site has been hacked by the Iranian Cyber Army.&#8221;</p>
<p>There was no evidence the hackers are actually linked to Iran. Web sites like Twitter and Facebook helped bring attention to the Iranian opposition during the country&#8217;s crackdown after its June elections, with users posting minute-by-minute updates and amateur video.</p>
<p>Twitter later Friday posted a message on its blog that said its Domain Name Systems&#8217; records &#8220;were temporarily compromised but have now been fixed.&#8221;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Pepsi will not advertise its drinks in the coming Super Bowl on CBS, ending a 23-year run</strong> &#8230;&#8230;..<em>Why?????</em></p>
<p>So the company can focus on a new, mostly online, marketing effort. Since the late 80&#8242;s Pepsi&#8217;s Super Bowl ads had won enormous consumer affection throughout, and what were perhaps its glory years for game ads came in the 1990s. From 1994 though 1998, Pepsi aired the ad that was most liked by participants in USA TODAY&#8217;s exclusive Super Bowl Ad Meter, an annual real-time consumer testing of the game&#8217;s ads as they air.</p>
<p>Pepsi has been the second-biggest Super Bowl advertiser in the past decade. The company has spent $143 million on the 10 Super Bowls from 1999 through 2008, second only to Anheuser-Busch, which spent $216 million. (Sources <a href="http://www.tnsglobal.com/">TNS</a>).</p>
<p><strong>So the new Strategy???</strong></p>
<p>The nation&#8217;s second-biggest soft-drink maker is plowing marketing dollars into its Pepsi Refresh Project, starting next month, as its main vehicle for Pepsi. The project will pay at least $20 million for projects people create to &#8220;refresh&#8221; communities.</p>
<p>A website will go live Jan. 13 where people can list their projects, which could range from helping to feed people to teaching kids to read. People can vote starting Feb. 1 to determine which projects receive money.</p>
<p>Good! The big boys have realized the potential audience online, wonder when certain others would come out of the Brick and Mortar setup!!!!</p>
